Appetite Suppressants

Medication that suppresses your appetite will help you stick to a low-calorie diet.

When you are hungry, your willpower gets depleted and you are more susceptible to temptation. We do not recommend long-term appetite suppressant use. As you start losing weight and start getting healthier, that motivation will support your willpower and hopefully lessen the need for medication. Our goal is for you to continue to lose weight and use less medication. The physicians in our weight loss clinic can prescribe many medications to help you reach your weight loss goals.

The following are descriptions of the most frequently prescribed appetite suppressant:

Phentermine (Fastin, Adipex)
Phentermine is a prescription-only medication that is approved for short term use as an appetite suppressant for the management of obesity. Phentermine has been available on the market since the 1950’s. It works for weight loss by telling your brain that you are not hungry.

Phendimetrazine (Bontril)
Phendimetrazine is a prescription-only appetite suppressant for the short term management of obesity. It works by stimulating the brain where appetite and hunger are controlled making the user feel a sensation of fullness. It may also increase energy. Phendimetrazine has been used for weight loss since 1961.

Essential Vitamins & Ammino Acids
Specially formulated nutrient complexes help increase energy and contribute to the success of your weight loss plan.
The Rx Weight Loss Program nutrient complexes ensure your body receives all the necessary nutrients to keep you at your energetic best. Many of the nutrients are not readily absorbed when taken orally and need to be taken by injection. B12, B6, and MIC (methionine, inositol, choline) injections are safe, effective and keep your body well-balanced. MIC injections are lipotropic nutrients which encourage the export of fat from the liver, then burns the excess fat for additional energy. Without lipotropics such as choline and inositol, fats and bile can become trapped in the liver, causing severe problems such as cirrhosis and blocking fat.

The following are descriptions of the most frequently used nutrients utilized by our physicians to aid you in your medical weight loss program:

NutriVitamin Enzyme Complex
Easily absorbed daily multiple Multivitamin and mineral supplement with highly concentrated plant enzymes for optimal nutritional maintenance. NutriVitamin Enzyme Complex without Iron includes vitamins, enzymes, probiotics and fruit-sourced antioxidants. This formula was especially created to be easily absorbed by the body.

Vitamin B12
Regulates the formation of red blood cells and helps in the utilization of iron, preventing anemia. It is an important component of the body system, because it is required for proper digestion, absorption and synthesis of foods, protein synthesis, and the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats.

Methionine
An antioxidant amino acid that neutralizes free radicals. It helps break down fat, removes heavy metals from the body and aids digestion. It is one of the important amino acids that increase energy and lean muscle mass.

Inositol
A vitamin that is vital for metabolism of fat and cholesterol. It also prevents hardening of the arteries and been shown to help in the treatment of depression and anxiety.

Choline
Plays a major role in cardiovascular health. In addition to minimizing excess fat in the liver through its fat and cholesterol metabolic properties, it aids in hormone production.

Chromium
Plays a role in the metabolism of glucose and is needed for energy. It also plays a vital role in the synthesis of fats, cholesterol and proteins.
